La Garita Cabin
OVERVIEW
La Garita Cabin is located in La Garita Wilderness on 160 acres of private land surrounded by National Forest. The United States Congress designated the La Garita Wilderness in 1964 and it now has 129,626 acres all managed by the Forest Service. La Garita means "the lookout" in Spanish and the land is much deserving of the name. From the summit of this wilderness you can gaze across the upper Rio Grand Valley and down the San Luis Valley.
HUNTING
La Garita Cabin is a prime location for both elk and deer hunting. Located in unit 79 just 20 miles north of Del Norte, CO.
FISHING
Trout fishing in creek and beaver ponds, both creek and beaver ponds is a short walk (visible from cabin).
ATVs
Hundreds of miles of Forest Service inter-connecting ATV trails behind cabin.

4x4 vehicle recommended. Only $1,000 per season for up to 4 hunters, each additional $250.00 per person.
